July E360 Webinar

Internet of things (IoT) technologies have a wide variety of potential uses within commercial refrigeration applications. By utilizing connected IoT sensors on equipment and installing smart control devices, operators can leverage data to uncover valuable information related to refrigeration asset performance and condition. Combined with powerful machine-learning algorithms, this data can be further analyzed to deliver more predictive insights, identify preventative maintenance opportunities, and even develop prescriptive maintenance models.

In this E360 Webinar, we discuss the fundamentals of IoT technology and explore the vast potential of data within commercial refrigeration applications, such as:

  • Identifying procedural problems in quick-service restaurants (QSRs) with respect to adherence to their hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP) programs
  • Measuring the return on investment (ROI) of implementing digital HACCP programs and/or remote temperature monitoring of refrigeration assets
  • Developing algorithms for the marine sector to help provide early detection of potential food safety/quality issues during sea transport (and applying these concepts to food retail)

July E360 Webinar

Every year on June 26th, Emerson pauses to recognize World Refrigeration Day (WRD) and celebrate the people and technologies responsible for creating and maintaining temperature-controlled environments. This year, we will be hosting an E360 Webinar that corresponds with WRD 2021 by focusing on the importance of attracting and recruiting the next generation of HVACR service technicians.

This E360 Webinar will discuss:

  • Leveraging advanced technologies and modern tools
  • Equipping technicians with skills that enable a high earning potential
  • Co-op and apprenticeship opportunities to learn the trade while also earning a paycheck
  • Learning skills that support our infrastructure and make the world a better place
  • Inspiring passion in HVACR professions

May E360 Webinar

In our recent E360 Webinar, we explored one European retailer’s sustainability journey from HFCs to low-GWP A2L refrigerants. As part two of the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute’s (AHRI) webinar series, How to Not Only Survive, but “Win” the Refrigeration Industry HFC Phasedown, this webinar featured the following experts and practitioners:

  • Dr. Rajan Rajendran of Emerson
  • Helen Walter-Terrinoni of AHRI
  • Lauren MacGowens of AHRI
  • Tim Anderson of Hussmann Corporation
  • Stephen Spletzer of The Chemours Company
  • Brian Churchyard of ASDA (a European retailer)

Learn about the key points of the European retailer’s journey:

  • Defining sustainability goals and objectives — and meeting them
  • Transitioning from A1s (HFCs) to A2Ls
  • Applying A2L systems in a safe and effective way
  • Understanding impacts on store and equipment design, training, and maintenance
  • Imparting lessons learned along the way

February E360 Webinar

From all indications, 2021 is shaping up to be a transitional year in the arena of federal and state regulations that govern commercial refrigeration and AC applications. At the federal level, the recent enactment of the American Innovation and Manufacturing Act of 2020 (AIM Act) gives the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) the authority to phase down the consumption and production of hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) refrigerants and establish sector based limits. Elsewhere, California and other members of the U.S. Climate Alliance are moving forward with their own HFC phase-down mandates. And with a new administration taking office, we’re likely to see a new tone and urgency with respect to broader climate initiatives.

This informative webinar places all these important developments into their proper context and offers insights to help you understand the impacts on your business. Learn:

  • Status of California Air Resources Board (CARB) regulations/proposals and their potential impacts
  • Review of U.S. Climate Alliance state activities and adoption of EPA SNAP Rules 20 and 21
  • Overview of AIM Act and its potential impacts
  • Update on the codes and standards for flammable refrigerants, such as UL 60335-2-89 and ASHRAE 15
  • Impacts that a new administration may have on climate initiatives
